Privacy Policy — Pickle: Help Me Decide

WHO WE ARE
Pickle ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Morgan Bennett. You can reach us at iminapickle.app@gmail.com.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you provide: account info (your name and email from Google or Apple sign-in), display name and emoji avatar, an optional phone number for finding friends, the text and photos you post as Pickle options, and your votes.
Information collected automatically: push notification token, usage data (which Pickles you view and vote on, timing used to calculate your Pickle Personality), analytics events via PostHog (in-app actions tied to your account), and standard device information.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
To operate core features (posting, voting, friend connections); match you with contacts on Pickle (only if you grant contacts permission); send push notifications; calculate your Pickle Personality and voter ranking; moderate content for safety; and respond to support requests.
HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help run the app: Supabase (database, auth, storage), Apple and Google (sign-in), OpenAI (text safety screening; not used to train their models), Google Cloud Vision (image safety screening), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Expo (push delivery), and PostHog (product analytics tied to your account; not used for advertising or cross-app tracking).
Public Pickles are anonymous — your name is not shown. Friends Pickles show your display name to your friends only.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account anytime from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes your profile, Pickles, and votes.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY AND MINIMUM AGE
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pickle. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided us personal information, contact iminapickle.app@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
We use Expo's push service to send notifications for friend requests, votes, and new Pickles from friends. We store a device push token tied to your account, used solely to deliver notifications, and deleted when you sign out or delete your account. You can disable notifications anytime in your device Settings.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may access, correct, or delete your data, or opt out of certain processing. To delete your data use Settings → Delete Account, or email us. Contact iminapickle.app@gmail.com to exercise any right.
DATA SECURITY
We use industry-standard practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Supabase Row Level Security. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our app integrates with Supabase, Google, Apple, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Expo, and PostHog. Each has its own privacy policy on their website.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
